Marketing Copywriter
Simon & Schuster, LLC, is looking for a Marketing Copywriter to help grow the highly successful Pimsleur language learning subscription business. In this role, you’ll be the voice behind our digital experiences. You’ll transform our core messages into compelling stories across every channel — from attention-grabbing ads to seamless landing pages, email campaigns that spark curiosity, and social posts that stop the scroll.
Responsibilities:
The Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for creating clear, persuasive, and engaging copy for various digital marketing channels. Collaborating closely with marketing and design, this role will ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints, including paid advertisements, landing pages, emails, and social media. Key responsibilities include:
- Digital Marketing Channels: Write copy for paid and organic social media, display banners, email campaigns, affiliate partnerships, and search ads, ensuring alignment with Pimsleur’s brand voice and customer acquisition goals.
- Content Strategy: Assist in creating strategic marketing content that supports brand initiatives and growth. Ensure all content reflects Pimsleur’s voice and messaging across multiple platforms.
- Landing Pages: Lead copy creation for landing pages, working closely with designers to ensure a seamless user experience that drives conversions from visitors to subscribers.
- Email Marketing: Develop copy for lifecycle email campaigns, including welcome emails, retention campaigns, and promotional newsletters.
- A/B Testing: Collaborate with the marketing team to test different copy variations for landing pages, ads, and emails to identify what resonates most with target audiences. Use data-driven insights to refine messaging.
- SEO Optimization: Work with SEO lead to write user interface copy for web and mobile platforms, optimizing for both user experience and search engine visibility.
- Social Media: Strategize, create, and lead development of compelling organic social media content writing posts geared toward driving site engagement and subscription starts.
- Creative Collaboration: Work with graphic designer to produce cohesive, visually engaging marketing materials. Participate in brainstorming sessions to bring fresh, innovative ideas to life.
Skills Required:
- Conversion Copywriter: 5+ years of experience (preferably within a performance marketing or direct-to-consumer environment) crafting copy that doesn’t just sit there—it moves people. Whether it’s a tweet, banner ad, or full-blown campaign, your words have the power to capture attention and spark action.
- Persuasive Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing creativity across diverse content formats is a must, with tangible results and performance metrics that demonstrate the impact of your work.
- A Creative Mind: Proven ability to turn trending cultural moments into brand engagement opportunities, creating content that resonates with the target audience.
- Master of Multitasking: You can juggle multiple projects and priorities with ease, all while keeping the quality of your work top-notch.
- Data-Driven Storytelling: You’re comfortable analyzing metrics and adapting your copy based on what’s resonating with our audience. You see feedback not as criticism but as a roadmap to creating something even better.
